Later, a car is waiting.
You leave the coast behind and follow the road inland, through vineyards and quiet stone villages, until the landscape begins to feel like a secret. Somewhere in the Motovun forest, a local truffle hunter is waiting with his dogs. You walk beneath the trees, following their instinct, laughing when they disappear into the undergrowth. And when they finally find what you came for, you realise that the truffle was never really the point.
The point was being there.
Another day, perhaps, belongs entirely to the sea.
